Print Then Cut Holiday Stickers
Stickers are all the rage right now and it makes total sense because they’re so stinkin’ cute! These stickers make the perfect festive addition to your laptop, planner, holiday gifts, and more!!
Grab your favorite holiday beverage and a set of my hand lettered holiday stickers — or design your own & let’s make them together!
You’ll Need:
inkjet printable vinyl (I used this kind!)
Cricut machine (I have this one!)
Cutting mat (like this one!)
inkjet printer
Optional: Procreate app, iPad Pro, & Apple Pencil
Optional Step: Design On the iPad - skip down to “Step One” if you already downloaded my stickers!
You can either make your own design using the iPad Pro & Procreate app (see this blog post to learn how) or upload this design right from my Etsy shop to jump right in!
Hand letter your design in the Procreate app on the iPad Pro. I use my BrittanyLettering brush that I fully customized and use for everything I letter. You can grab it here! For more iPad lettering tips, check out this blog post.
Once you’ve got your design all set, make sure to add a white background to the stickers. I made this mistake on my first go around and it turned out quite silly ha! Just uncheck your “background” layer (it’s the very bottom layer when you open up your layers).
Add a new layer beneath your lettering layer, and use a large brush to add a thick white background behind all the stickers.
Once your stickers are ready, go up to your toolbar and export them as a transparent png image to your computer.
Save the design to your computer and you’re ready to get started on Step One!
Step One: Upload Design
First, you’ll need to open up Cricut Design Space and click “New Project”.
Once you’re in a new project, click “Upload” to add your sticker design. Drag and drop the png sticker file from your computer into the upload box.
Click “Complex” design (since there’s a variety of colors) & “Continue”.
You won’t have to select & erase anything in the next window, since your image has a transparent background. Click “Continue”.
Step Two: Print
In the next window, save your project as a “Print Then Cut” design. We will be printing the stickers out first, then cutting them out second. Click “Save”.
Now you’ll be able to upload your design to the Canvas! In the next window, click on the image of your stickers and click “Insert Images”.
Now we’ll resize them to fit the printer size. You cannot create a Print Then Cut that is bigger than 9.25” tall, since it has to fit the size of a single sheet of paper.
Resize the design to be 9.25” tall. The width will likely end up around 6.5” wide. Click “Make It”.
You’ll see a preview of the paper the mat. Click “Continue”.
Now, let’s hop over to the printer get everything setup. Load your inkjet printable vinyl into your printer & then click “Send To Printer”.
A Print Setup menu will appear. I uncheck Bleed & System Dialog.
Take a sip of your favorite holiday beverage and watch your printer do all the work!
Step Three: Cut
Once they’re all printed, we get to cut them out! Turn on your Cricut machine and sync it up with your computer.
Place your sticker sheet onto your cutting mat and load it into the Cricut machine. Click “Continue” on the computer. The Cricut will scan the paper first and then begin cutting.
Once they’re all cut out, carefully remove the backing and you’ll see a perfect little set of stickers!
Peel & stick, or send them to your favorite humans to brighten up their holidays!
